CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Carmelo Anthony started his professional career at the Towson Catholic HS and Oak Hill Academy. As a freshman after leading a 30-35 record and the school's first NCAA championship in men's basketball, he was named second team All-America by The Associated Press. He was also named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2003 NCAA Final Four and MVP of NCAA East Regional. Anthony. He was also the undisputed choice as the Big East Conference Freshman of the Year and was an All-Big East First Team selection. Anthony was named the Big East Rookie of the Week after a league-record he repeated 10 times making an average of 22.2 points (16th in nation, 4th in Big East) and 10.0 rebounds (19th in nation, 3rd in Big East). Posted 22 double-doubles and led team in scoring in 24 of 35 games. At the National Championship games when the team defeated the Kansas. Carmelo scored 20 points and added another 10 rebounds, dishing seven assists. In the 24 games he played in the 2003-2004 season he posted 20 points. Tallied career-high 15 rebounds twice once against Georgetown and the second time when playing against Connecticut.
 

Melo rejected for 2004 all-star game

His decision to play at Oak Hill in the senior season improved his game considerably and prepared him for college. He entered college as many people's top rated freshman prospect. He produced incredible scores in the first half of the rookie season. Anthony was not selected to the All Star Team in February 2004. If he had made it to the team he would have been among the youngest players to make to the All Star team. His high-flying dunks and incredible stat lines show that he is a future Hall of Famer.

Carmelo has a passion for football also. His favorite football team is the Baltimore Ravens. The craze to basketball gave him a scar when he was young. Anthony has a scar above his left eyebrow, he injured himself when he fell off a speaker while watching his elder brother play basketball.
